This release adds a new option under Disable default filter fields to hide thread types selector in the filters. We have also modified the package to allow Can use custom field filters permission to guests and registered usergroups upon installation (it would allow all usergroups and custom user permissions based on previous version). Customized values from previous installation are preserved, but if you have modified this permission please double-check your permission setup after the upgrade.

In this release, we have implemented new forum permission called Can use custom field filters. The permission can be used by admins to enable/disable custom thread field filters per usergroup and node. The release also includes a bug fix with numeric custom field intervals not including the minimum and maximum value in the results.

In this release, we have implemented a Clear button in the filter form, next to the Filter button. Pressing the button resets filters. The button is not shown in the filter form until some filters are applied.

This version fixes a bug where the "Filters" icon doesn't appear next to the search icon in the mobile view when the option "Filter Icon Location" is set to "Next to the search icon".

This is a fix for a regression in the latest version, which would cause the Auto Reload not to work if Filterable Dropdown Lists option is disabled.

Minor UI fix: multiple selection lists loading slowly with large number of choices

This version implements stability fixes mostly targeting the Auto reload feature. Due to dynamic changes in the form in the process of updating page data based on latest filter criteria, there could be cases when JavaScript-powered fields (e.g. filterable selects, date fields) would in an invalid state (e.g. the popup opens but its parent element is removed from the page due to automatic reload and the popup remains on the page). The only way we could find to prevent such issues was to disable the form with an overlaying semi-transparent layer while we update the form via JavaScript. Users will not able to interact with the form while a request is in progress.

Users will be able to interact with the form within one second without trigger form reload and with each interaction, the reload is delayed for another second, so users can quickly select multiple options or apply other changes and the form will be reloaded with all these changes sent to the server in batch.

We also made the multiple-selection lists to show only one row if the Filterable lists option is enabled. This way, layout changes will be less noticeable while the native selection list is transformed to a filterable list.

This release also applies a definitive fix for filterable selects missing phrases and adds back two phrases (altf_km and altf_mile) that were by mistake removed in one of the latest releases.

This version also fixes the bug reported by several customers using Elasticsearch 7.x ErrorException: [39:49] [bool] failed to parse field [must]

The release fixes a bug with the phrases used in filterable select always being in English, particularly the phrase "No results found". Now XenForo phrases will be used instead of hard-coded values.

The version adds support for address-based filtering if you are using our Location custom field add-on. A new option is available on Add/Edit Custom field pages, to choose if filtering by this field should show range-based search options (the ZIP code/address in combination with the range in km or miles), or selection lists with available country/state/city options to choose from. The option has any effect only if you are using any of our Filter add-ons.

The release fixes an accidental issue in the version 3.1.0 including older files that caused JavaScript errors in the filter form. Please apply the version asap if you have installed the version 3.1.0. or above.

In some cases number type fields are used for data that does not require number formatting (eg if the custom field represents years, it should not be shown as "2.020" but "2020". We have added an option that allows admins to list the IDs of such custom fields, and they will not be formatted in the output.

The release also fixes a bug that would log a PHP error in some cases if the option "Total count indicator is active".

Important Note: If you are using several of our Filter add-ons, please disable them before applying the upgrade. Upgrade all add-ons and only after that enable the products.

The release fixes a bug with a Facet search showing the wrong number of matching results. The issue was related to Elasticsearch optimization considering only the top results, so the options that had fewer matching items would be shown as having no documents. The issue does not affect you if you are using MySQL as a search index or you are not using the Facet search option.

This release fixes a compatibility issue with UI.X themes (filter icon not shown correctly on mobiles).

The version solves the issue with filtering of selection lists that have accent characters which would not be shown if filter text is without accents.

This is a minor release that solves several fixes:

1. When the filter form is shown above thread list, the second column of the form had an unneeded border on the top. This is removed now with an additional JavaScript that detects the fields which are on top of the column and removes the separator border for them.
2. When filterable dropdown lists are enabled in the options, clicking a field with dragging the mouse would select all other fields and the list of threads. This behavior could be reproduced in Firefox only. We have added additional CSS rules to disable text selection on fields with filterable options.
3. Compatabolity issue with the Aggregating Forums by @Xon affecting the product only if you have filterable dropdown lists enabled.
4. Fixed an SQL error when facet search is enabled with MySQL indexation engine.

There were several issues with other filter add-ons depending on Thread Filter add-on in their code, which is fixed now. This update includes the latest fixes the filter framework files shared by all filter add-ons.

This is a minor release, that changes the way the add-on is using some of our shared PHP classes. From now on, the add-on will require a core library package from https://xenforo.com/community/resources/al-core-package.7382/ to be installed. Please download the package and install it before upgrading the add-on. Please upgrade all other AddonsLab add-ons you are using to their latest versions if you see an error in the Admin Panel about files with unexpected content.

The version implements an additional filter - "Discussion status", allowing to filter the threads based on their locked/unlocked status. A new option is added to allow the admins to decide which additional filters should be enabled (Locked/Unlocked status is the only choice for now) and decide where exactly these fields should appear in the form.

Another enhancement in this version is the ability to hide the prefix filter from the form, as an additional option for the setting "Disable default filter fields".

This is a bug-fix version that fixes the PHP error on the extended search form.

The version fixes a PHP error caused by Elasticsearch 2.x incompatibility. Your installation is not affected by the issue if filtering brings any results with ES enabled. We have also implemented a new option to set Cache TTL controlling how long the results of the search should be cached in the MySQL database. Setting the option to 0 will disable the cache. The option should be used only to troubleshoot issues that could be caused by invalid cache.

Due to a limitation on how many items are returned by the initial search based on keywords (200 by default), their further filtering by category and custom fields could end up with a missing or incomplete list of found items. The issue is fixed now by raising the limit based on the option "Maximum result count" (10000 by default).

This update adds a new option to disable some of the default fields - "Sort by", "Last updated" and "Started by".

A bug was introduced in the latest version with the support of HTML tags in option values, that caused a template error shown in when searching threads by keywords. The issue is fixed now.

The release also includes a new bug-fix for XenForo 2.1.x version, where sortable options would not be shown in "Sort by" list.

We have verified XenForo 2.1 + XenForo Enhanced Search 2.1.0 compatibility. This version also adds a new option to disable filterable lists, which seem to cause some issues on mobile devices. Please verify that the feature works for you or disable it until further development and confirmation, that the feature can be used safely on all devices.

This release also contains a minor fix for our customers who use Resource Filter with Thread Filter, which would cause one of the add-ons breaking when another one is uninstalled. This version is also fully compatible with XenForo 2.0.x version.

The release improves filter UI in front-end with two features:

1. Filterable options for single and multiple selection lists. Single selections lists keep their appearance fully but allow filtering the list by typing in a field on top of the list. Multiple-selection lists are converted to typical XenForo UI element used in Start Conversation page for recipients, so users can see all selected options, remove an option or add an option. User experience is especially improved with long lists and on mobile devices that can't show all options at once.

2. A new option is added allowing to collapse the filter form above thread list on page load. The form will be collapsed to a row saying "Filter" with an arrow on the right. Clicking it users will see the full form and be able to customize the filters. The form does not stay open after initial opening but loads as collapsed (due to technical issues with toggle implementation in XenForo causing the screen to jump before the form would be closed/opened via JS). The option is disabled by default.

The version also makes it possible for other add-ons to customize the look and feel of filter form using JavaScript without losing the customizations when the form is reloaded due to the change of active filters. For that custom JavaScript code should be written to run on custom event "filter:init". The callback is given an instance of the event as the first argument and jQuery object representing the form as the second argument. An example of usage can be found in file "filter_reload.js".

The version also fixes a bug with multiple-choice fields not being searched properly and missing some search results. It is required to rebuild search index for content type "Custom thread fields" after installation.

This is a bug-fix release the fixes the case of having incorrect results shown when two custom fields have identical values. As a result, the cache from the search results executed against one of the custom fields could be used when searching for the second custom field.

The default behavior of the product to search multiple values of the same custom field is to find any items which match to any of the options selected. For example, if a thread is created with the values of a custom field put as "option 1" and "option 2", and another thread is created with the same custom field having a value "option 1" only, then a user filtering the list checking both "option 1" and "option 2" in the form would see both threads in the results. With this update, we detect such cases and give users an additional selection field under the checkboxes allowing to change this behavior and find only the threads which have ALL instead of ANY selected options checked.

Also, admins are able to set if the default match type for a field should be "Match all options" or "Match any option". This can be set in add/edit field page, under the sector "Options for choice fields".

This is a stability enhancement fixing PHP errors logged in the Admin Panel in the cases when a bot or a user would intentionally supply filter values which don't exist in the choices of a multiple-choice field. The error would be generated due to the system trying to find the phrase for the option and resulting in "Undefined index..." error.

This is a bug-fix release that solves the problem of thread filter forms disappearing after XenForo upgrade or rebuilding of master data. It was caused by XenForo listeners not being available during the upgrade process, therefor customized version of field cache would be replaced with the default version, without information about filtering in it. As a result, all custom fields would disappear from the form. Now we check the cache during loading of the page to see if the information we expect is there or no. If no the cache is rebuilt immediately and the form is rendered correctly.

In this version, we have implemented a new option to control where the filter icon should appear when the off-canvas filter menu is enabled. By default, it will be added above thread list, replacing the default "Filters" link that would open the filter popup with an icon. Clicking the icon the off-canvas menu will open. Another alternative is to add the icon next to the Search and Alerts icon in the user bar.

This is a stability-fix release where we handled a rare case of errors being shown on thread page and during search indexation. The error would happen only if in case you have created a field of single-selection type, created some threads with that field, and then delete the field from admin panel and created another one with identical ID but as multiple-selection type. This case is not supported by XenForo itself and an error would be shown on thread pages "Invalid argument supplied for foreach...". The reason is that XenForo expects the value saved for the field to be an array, but it is a string as it was saved at the time when the field was a single-selection field. Our product will handle this case gracefully now, converting the value back to array in runtime, so that field value is shown properly, and can also be indexed and searched.

If you have the issue described, you should rebuild thread fields after product installation at Admin Panel -> Tools -> Rebuild Caches -> Rebuild Thread Fields, and after that rebuild search index for the content type "Thread Fields".

The release also fixes a regression in UI introduced in version 1.9.0 which cased the filter form above thread list to be shown in one column instead of two.

This is a bug-fix release, which solves the issue of filter icon being shown in all XenForo pages and not only forum view.

In this release, we have implemented the off-canvas filter menu for mobile view. If enabled, the forms in all other locations will be hidden and a filter icon will be added next to the search icon, clicking which the filter menu will slide in from the left side. The menu supports all features of usual filter forms, like AJAX reloading, pre-populated form with current filters after page load, removing of active filters etc.

The release also has some stability fixes reported recently.

This is a bug-fix release resolving some errors that customers may experience immediately after installation of the add-on when the information about the fields is not available yet (e.g. no custom fields configured yet).

This is a bug-fix that fixes the PHP error occurring when a user's search includes categories.

This version introduced two substantial enhancements - ability to filter threads by keywords and by tags. Both features are configurable and can be turned off in product's options. Keyword search can be configured to search in thread title only or both title and the content of the first post. Both fields support AJAX mode. In the background, XenForo search engine and the cache is used to filter the threads.

This release also fixes two logical bugs reproduced by our customers. One was causing empty search result page when searching all messages by a user. This scenario is more likely to happen when the user searched has a large number of threads created with many custom fields for each thread. Another problem would cause the search results to include threads that don't match single-choice custom field values entirely but only partially. As these fields are not entered by users in a free-form but the values are chosen from a predefined list, the expected behavior is an exact match of selected options, which is how it will work after the fix is applied.

In this release we have optimized the product for the boards which use custom fields with thousands of possible choices.

This is a bug-fix version solving the PHP error shown on RSS pages.

In this version we have implemented Auto Reload option via AJAX. Any change in the filter form will update the list of threads via AJAX and show the filtered list along with active filters. Clicking on active filters on top of the list will remove the filter and update the list without full page reload as well. At the same time, current URL keeps updating with the latest filter data, so users can just copy the URL and send it via IM and the URL will represent their currently filtered list (supported in modern browsers only).

This is the next version with another enhancement planned - sorting thread list by custom field values. The fields with numeric representation (numbers, date, rating) will now be available in sort options for a forum where they are available. The fields can be chosen to be added to the list from Edit Field page.

This is a bug-fix release, that solves an issue in search integration introduced with the latest update.

In this version we have enhanced the locations where thread field values can be shown on forum view and search pages. Now admins can easily choose any number of fields to be shown in a separate column, under thread title or as thread prefix. In search results, only the prefix and under thread title locations are available.

This version is not backward-compatible with 1.3.x version in terms of field location selection, so after installation please go to Edit Forum page and choose the locations for each field.

This is a bug-fix release, that solves an error appearing if DB error happens during license validation.

In this release we have implemented showing the values of custom fields in thread list and search results.

By default no values are included. Any forum can be edited and under the list of available custom fields there is a list to choose which ones should be shown in thread list and search results.

Please note, that the fields are included in one cell, under each other, and depending on field value, may require less or more space to be displayed. Depending on number of fields you choose to display in the list, you may need to apply custom CSS fixes to make the list to appear properly.

The column added follows similar layout in mobile view as Replies/Views column, changing to smaller font size first and then switching to a line under thread title.

The version implements a new filter location - above thread list. The location can be activated in product's settings for all nodes or for each individual node.
